Sometimes the thing worth building isn't the one solving a problem, it's the one that's just genuinely fun to play for five minutes between everything else.
Why "It's Just Pong" Undersells What's Actually There
The core idea is simple on purpose — two paddles and a ball is instantly understandable to anyone, no tutorial needed. But the layer built around that simple core is where the real design work happened. A casual Pong clone doesn't need match formats, an AI opponent with three real difficulty tiers, a ranked ladder, or a leaderboard tracking local match history. Fikrago Pulse has all of that specifically because "simple to learn" and "nothing to come back for" are two different problems. The ranked ladder against the Pro CPU, starting from Bronze, exists so a quick five-minute game has somewhere to go instead of ending the moment the match does. The challenge system — career goals and badges to unlock — exists for the same reason. Keeping a simple game simple while still giving it a reason to be replayed is a harder balance than it looks.
